December is for me – and many with me – the month to harvest kale, leeks and beets .
If there is no significant frost, you can enjoy fresh beets all winter long. They stay good in the ground for a very long time. Cover them well!

Other than that I leave the garden nicely alone. Inside by the warm stove I enjoy picking out new vegetable seeds. Every year it is exciting to try something new: I look forward to that. You can also think about the layout of your vegetable garden next year, because crop rotation is very important.
